31 Days of Wisdom and Worship – Day 13 – Pastor Ryan Binkley
Wisdom
“Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything.”
Proverbs 13:3 NLT
When Ellie and I first got married, we made up a song one time when we did a good job at not saying something when we felt like it. It went something like, “Who can tame the tongue? Ellie can, Ellie can!” It was a definite cause for celebration because we have all been through situations where our tongues have gotten us in trouble and if we just would not have said anything at all, then certainly there would have been a better outcome. This proverb is not about saying the right thing at the right time or even a positive thing, although that is ideal. It is simply about not saying anything at all. If you learn to control your tongue it can lead to a long life and if not, it can ruin everything.
Worship
“May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the Lord answer all your prayers.”
